Players who are League Age 5 through League Age 7 are eligible to play in MVLL regardless of residential location or school attendance. This is due to the Little League International
2025 Regulation II Update.
Players who are League Age 8 through League Age 14, plus League Age 15 8th graders must live in Mill Valley (West of Highway 101) and/or attend a Mill Valley public or private school. Note that League Age 8 and over children who attend Strawberry Point School must live on the west side of the freeway to be eligible to play Mill Valley Little League. The
Little League Residency and School Attendance Eligibility Checklist provides more information on eligibility requirements for players League Age 8 through 15. As a practical matter, we do not collect residency and school attendance documentation for regular season players; we do, however, collect and retain this data for any player selected to an All-Star team. Any "out of boundary" player can request a Residential Boundary Waiver. Families wishing to seek a waiver for an out-of-boundary player should contact the Player Agent at
[email protected]. The Player Agent will then contact the parent/guardian directly to discuss next steps, which typically includes a letter from the parents requesting and explaining the need for the boundary waiver. Should the MVLL Board of Directors approve the request, the MVLL President requests approval from both District 3 and from the league in which the player resides. If these approvals are granted, and Western Region concurs, the player may play in MVLL. Depending on the situation, the player may or may not be eligible for All Stars.
Little League International Regulation V(a) requires all League Age 12-year-olds to play in the Majors Division. In rare circumstances, and only with the approval of MVLL and the District 3 Administrator, the rule may be waived to allow a 12-year-old to play in Minors, generally only in situations in which the player’s safety and well-being requires placement in the Minors division. MVLL’s Waiver Committee (Player Agent, Safety Officer, Majors Commissioner, and Minors Commissioner) considers these requests on behalf of the league. Families wishing to seek a waiver for their League Age 12-year-old player to play in Minors should complete the
LL International 12-Year-Old Waiver Form and email it to the Player Agent at
[email protected]. The Player Agent will then contact the parent/guardian directly to discuss next steps. 12-year-olds in Minors are not allowed to pitch.
More information regarding the waiver process generally can be found at the Little League International
here.
